The global march against Monsanto and GM Foods on 25 May’13 was a resounding success - with over 2 million taking part worldwide, it was peaceful, educational, joyous and ultimately TRIUMPHANT. However, although it took place in over 250 cities across the globe, not one of the UK mainstream news media felt the health issues raised were important enough to cover. Instead, the media chose to focus our attention on terrorism; instilling more public fear; whilst ignoring the very ‘real global threat’ ofGenetically Modified Foods. As we have outlined on numerous occasions in the past, this is how the media work hand in glove with Corporations, to prevent the truth reaching YOU, (the public). And it didn’t stop there. The week before the march, we asked all UK Political Leaders, Government Ministers & Members (in both Houses of Parliament), to sign our petition and look seriously into the issues surrounding GM Food production. None responded or signed the petition to safeguard your human rights, health choices and the environment. An incredibly poor result, however, we will keep pressing them and keep you updated. Nevertheless, the march showed what can be achieved when we come together and take action. Our Voices saying “NO!” ricocheted loud and clear throughout the world, leaving Corporate giants and Monsanto in no doubt that we mean business and intend to stop GM production globally.

To recap: in March 2013, a new Law was passed in America, giving GM producer ‘Monsanto’ absolute immunity against any harm their products could cause you, loved-ones, future generations & the environment. This means that Monsanto (the largest producer), can now legally unleash their genetically-modified seeds on to the world’s population. Sadly, the majority of people are unaware that they may have been consuming Genetically Modified Foods (GM) for over 20 years, which research has linked tocancer, infertility, birth defects, organ damage, premature deaths and much more. For full details, please look at our previous news release.

The march was just 'the beginning' but 'not the end' of GM production. Therefore, we need to step up the pressure by not buying them, to ensure GM Foods are driven out of the fields; out of the stores and out of our lives - forever. To do this effectively, we must demand the labeling of all GM products, so they can be easily identified. NOT BUYING GM is the greatest tool we have to end global production and Corporate abuse. So please remain vigilant; pro-active; shop smart and keep up the momentum. To help get you started, we have listed a few pointers below.

Eram 11 irmãos numa aldeia do
todos. Em casa levávamos." Chegou a Lisboa e começou a trabalhar nas
obras.

enquanto estava incluída no salário. Depois tornou--se difícil continuar
a trabalhar daquela forma e quis parar de consumir. Começou uma
desintoxicação numa comunidade terapêutica e parou antes do fim, a
limpo, ainda arranjou trabalho. Pagava um quarto. Depois, outro depois, o
serviço começou a falhar. Há cinco meses ficou na rua.

As
espelhar a realidade.

pequeno, o tempo livre e as amizades deram- -lhe a conhecer a noite e o

mulher levou o filho.

Percebi a
No dia
Estava a
Nunca o tinha feito. Tinha tanto jeito que me
caíram cinco polícias em cima. A família nunca me perdoou e não o peço.

desemprego. Foi manobrador de gruas durante 20 anos. Depois as
empreitadas começaram a ser cada vez menos. As últimas grandes obras

Vida e Paz. Não entra em estatística nenhuma. "O meu princípio foi
quando me separei.
Nalguns albergues

Posso ganhar a lotaria."

Milho aos pombos

Dificuldades

equipas numa mesma noite.
pedidos e justifica o trabalho intenso no terreno.

Vemos Marina
duas noites seguidas.
Chegaram a viver numa casa abandonada. A Segurança Social tirou-lhe a
do dia seguinte.

No Seixal, indicou a associação
sinalizados menos casos. Em 2012 apoiaram 1683 pessoas, menos 132 que no
ano anterior. No primeiro trimestre deste ano deram apoio a 825
sem-abrigo.

impossível pensar no relento zero. Manuel, 61 anos, dorme no Rossio há
duas semanas e, confessa, porque quer. Tem casa em Belas. A história
banho públicas e fica a pensar e a ler. Tira um livrinho do bolso. O
título é "Perdoa-me".

Quem lá dorme guarda as
caiu do terceiro andar. O colega morreu e ele ficou com a perna
atravancada.

A noite é calma. Gil conta

psicológica”, indicou a médica.

benefícios a nível do humor e disposição.

The body is equipped with natural self-repair mechanisms that
can be flipped on or off with thoughts, beliefs and feelings that
originate in the mind. This is great news, because it means, in essence,
that you can heal yourself. But how?

Mind Over Medicine has
a whole section that teaches you the 6 Steps To Healing Yourself. But,
one of the many simple ways you can flip on your body’s self-repair
mechanisms is via meditation.

What Does It Mean To Meditate?

Meditation is defined as continued or extended thought; reflection;
contemplation. But, I prefer Harvard professor Dr. Herbert Benson’s
definition. He defines it as “Repetition of a word, sound, phrase,
prayer, or muscular activity while passively disregarding everyday
thoughts that inevitably come to mind and returning to your repetition.”
With this definition of meditation, anything can be a meditation “not
just sitting with your eyes closed in the lotus position, but walking,
making art, cooking, shopping, dancing, driving, etc.

How The Body Heals Itself

In my medical training, we were not taught that the body knows how to
heal itself. It is equipped with natural self-repair mechanisms that
repair broken proteins, kill cancer cells, fight infections, prevent
aging, and maintain the homeostasis of the body. When the body gets
sick, whether from the common cold or something more serious, like heart
disease or cancer, it’s almost always because the body’s self-repair
mechanisms have broken down, usually because of stress.

When the nervous system is stressed, as it is during the
“fight-or-flight” stress response that is so commonly triggered in
modern day life, these self-repair mechanisms are disabled and the body
is at risk for disease. Only when the counterbalancing relaxation
response is activated, when the sympathetic nervous system is turned off
and the parasympathetic nervous system is turned on, can the body heal
itself.

Why Meditate?

So how can you turn on that relaxation response so the body can heal
itself? There are many relaxation methods, but one of the simplest and
most effective is meditation. Meditation has been scientifically proven
to activate the relaxation response, and as a result, almost every
health condition improves. In his research at Harvard, Herbert Benson
demonstrated that meditation is effective in treating angina pectoris,
cardiac arrhythmias, allergic skin reactions, anxiety, mild to moderate
depression, bronchial asthma, herpes simplex, cough, constipation,
diabetes mellitus, duodenal ulcers, dizziness, fatigue, hypertension,
infertility, insomnia, nausea and vomiting during pregnancy,
nervousness, postoperative swelling, premenstrual syndrome, rheumatoid
arthritis, side effects of cancer, side effects of AIDS, and all forms
of pain: backaches, headaches, abdominal pain, muscle pain, joint aches,
postoperative pain, neck, arm, and leg pain. (Most likely it helps many
conditions not listed here, but Dr. Benson just hasn’t gotten around to
studying them yet!)
Meditation has been shown to decrease stress-related cortisol, reduce
respiration and heart rate, reduce the metabolic rate, increase blood
flow in the brain, increase activity in the left prefrontal cortex
(which is observed in happier people), strengthen the immune system, and
lead to a state of relaxation.
Meditation also reduces work stress, anxiety, and depression,
promotes cardiovascular health, improves cognitive function, reduces
alcohol abuse, improves longevity, promotes healthy weight, improves
immune function, and heightens quality of life.

How To Start Meditating

Deepak Chopra recommends the RPM (Rise, Pee, Meditate) approach to
meditation, suggesting that those who can will be well served to
meditate first thing upon rising. However, if you, like me, have young
children, you may find it easier to meditate when the kids are napping
or away at school. If you work outside the home, you may find it easier
to meditate over your lunch break or just before bed.
Regardless of when you do it, it’s crucial to make the time in your schedule to help your nervous system relax.

Here are some tips to help you get started with a sitting meditation practice:

1. Create a peaceful environment

If you’ve never tried a sitting meditation before, start by creating a
peaceful environment in which to meditate. I have two altars I’ve
created at home, one in my bedroom and one in my home office, which I
sit in front of to meditate. When I sit down to meditate, I light the
candles, burn some incense, and take a moment to let my altar soothe me.
Some people have rooms exclusively dedicated to meditation. Even a
small closet can be tricked out to become a special space designed to
help your body relax and your soul connect. Meditating outside can also
be lovely. Because I live on the California coast, I often meditate at
the ocean on a rocky beach that is usually deserted or in Muir Woods,
among the peaceful redwoods. If you have access to quiet spots in
nature, try a beach, a riverfront, a meadow or a forest free of
distractions.

2. Minimize disruptions.

Turn off the TV, silence your phone, and play soothing music if you
like. The point is to create an environment conducive to freeing your
mind from its daily clutter and relaxing your body.

3. Choose your meditation position.

If you can, sit on the floor and close your eyes. You don’t have to
sit in the lotus position unless you want to, but sitting on the floor
helps you feel grounded, connects you to Mother Earth, and roots you
into your body when you meditate. Feel free to use pillows, cushions,
and other props that help you feel comfortable. Keep your back straight
so you can breathe deeply with ease. If sitting on the floor is too
uncomfortable, sit in a chair and place your feet firmly on the floor to
develop a sense of grounding.

4. Set a timer.

If you’re new to meditation, start with just five minutes per day and
aim to work up to twenty. Set a timer so you don’t have to interrupt
your meditation to check your watch.

5. Close your eyes.

Closing your eyes minimizes visual distractions, helps you come back into your body, and starts to settle you.

6. Focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale.

Meditation teacher Jack Kornfield suggests that if you notice
yourself remembering, planning, or fantasizing, refrain from judging
yourself, but do call it out. “Hello remembering.” “Hello planning.”
“Hello fantasizing.” Then return to the present moment, focusing on
your breath. The minute you notice your thoughts starting to wander,
come back to your breath and try to empty your mind. If your mind
continues to wander and your breath isn’t enough to empty your mind, try
counting your breaths or repeating a one word mantra like “peace” or
“one” to clear your mind.

7. Release judgment.

Most importantly, don’t judge yourself as you learn to meditate.
Criticizing yourself for meditating “badly” or beating yourself up
because your monkey mind won’t calm down will only stress you out,
defeating the purpose of making attempts to help your body relax so it
can repair itself. Remain compassionate with yourself, and pat yourself
on the back for any progress you make.
Can’t make it more than 10 breaths into your meditation? Give
yourself a hug and try again the next day. Like anything, it just takes
practice. As someone who resisted meditation for most of my life, I can
attest to the fact that it really does get easier with regular practice,
and the benefits are so worth the effort.

Alternative Meditation Techniques

If you feel like expanding your meditation practice, try adding some of these meditation techniques to those listed above.

1. Relax your body.

To circumvent distracting images that may appear in your mind, you
may also try scanning your body for any parts that don’t feel relaxed
and visualizing your breath going to those tense spots. Imagine your
breath as golden light flowing to the tense places and filling them with
relaxation. Relax your back, your shoulders, your belly, your facial
muscles. If you have trouble finding your tension, try tensing and
releasing each muscle, starting at your forehead and moving down your
body all the way to your toes.

2. Ground yourself.

You can also try visualizing a grounding cord, coming out of your
bottom like an electrical cord or tree roots, dropping through the
floor, coursing through the soil and into the bedrock, and landing at
the core of the earth, where you can plug in. Allow anything that no
longer serves you to release down that grounding cord, into the earth’s
center, where it can get recycled. You can also visualize this grounding
energy of the earth’s core coursing up through the grounding cord and
filling you with healing light.

3. Visualize a relaxing scene.

Allow your mind to conjure up a real or imagined place of peace and
beauty. Allow your mind to experience the relaxing place in a
multi-sensory way. See it, feel it, smell it, taste it, and hear the
sounds. If you’re battling an illness, you might add healing
visualization to your meditation. In your mind’s eye, see the part of
your body affected by the illness returning to wholeness and health in
as much detail as you can muster.

4. Try guided meditation.

A new law proposed by the European Commission would make it illegal to "grow, reproduce or trade" any vegetable seeds that have not been "tested, approved and accepted" by a new EU bureaucracy named the "EU Plant Variety Agency."

It's called the Plant Reproductive Material Law, and it attempts to put the government in charge of virtually all plants and seeds. Home gardeners who grow their own plants from non-regulated seeds would be considered criminals under this law.

The draft text of the law, which has already been amended several times due to a huge backlash from gardeners, is viewable here.

"This law will immediately stop the professional development of vegetable varieties for home gardeners, organic growers, and small-scale market farmers," said Ben Gabel, vegetable breeder and director of The Real Seed Catalogue. "Home gardeners have really different needs - for example they grow by hand, not machine, and can't or don't want to use such powerful chemical sprays. There's no way to register the varieties suitable for home use as they don't meet the strict criteria of the Plant Variety Agency, which is only concerned about approving the sort of seed used by industrial farmers."

Virtually all plants, vegetable seeds and gardeners to eventually be registered by government

All governments are, of course, infatuated with the idea of registering everybody and everything. Under Title IV of the proposed EU law:

Title IV Registration of varieties in national and Union registers
The varieties, in order to be made available on the market throughout the Union, shall be included in a national register or in the Union register via direct application procedure to the CVPO.

Gardeners must also pay fees to the EU bureaucracy for the registration of their seeds. From the proposed law text:

The competent authorities and the CPVO should charge fees for the processing of
applications, the formal and technical examinations including audits, variety denomination, and the maintenance of the varieties for each year for the duration of
the registration.

While this law may initially only be targeted at commercial gardeners, it sets a precedent to sooner or later go after home gardeners and require them to abide by the same insane regulations.

Government bureaucracy gone insane

"This is an instance of bureaucracy out of control," says Ben Gabel. "All this new law does is create a whole new raft of EU civil servants being paid to move mountains of papers round all day, while killing off the seed supply to home gardeners and interfering with the right of farmers to grow what they want. It also very worrying that they have given themselves the power to regulate and licence any plant species of any sort at all in the future - not just agricultural plants, but grasses, mosses, flowers, anything at all - without having to bring it back to the Council for a vote."

As a hint of the level of insane bureaucracy that gardeners and vegetable growers will be subject to under this EU law, check out this language from the proposed EU law:

Specific provisions are set out on the registration in the Union variety register and with regard to the possibility for the applicant to launch an appeal against a CPVO decision. Such provisions are not laid down for the registration in the national variety
registers, because they are subject to national administrative procedures. A new obligation for each national variety examination centre to be audited by the CPVO will be introduced with the aim to ensure the quality and harmonisation of the variety registration process in the Union. The examination centre of the professional operators will be audited and approved by the national competent authorities. In case of direct application to the CPVO it will audit and approve the examination centres it uses for variety examination.

Such language is, of course, Orwellian bureaucraticspeak that means only one thing: All gardeners should prepare to be subjected to total government insanity over seeds, vegetables and home gardens.

RealSeeds.co.uk warns about any attempt to actually try to understand the law by reading it:

You cannot just read the first 5 pages or so that are an 'executive summary', and think you know what this law is about. The executive summary is NOT what will become the law. It is the actual Articles themselves that become law, the Summary has no legal standing and is just tacked on as an aid to the public and legislators, it is supposed to give background information and set the proposed legislation in context so people know what is going on and why.

The problem with this law has always been that the Summary says lots of nice fluffy things about preserving biodiversity, simplifying legislation, making things easier etc - things we all would love - but the Articles of the law actually do completely the opposite. And the Summary is not what becomes the law.

For example, the Summary of drafts 1, 2 & 3 talked about making things easier for 'Amateur' varieties. But the entire class of Amateur vegetables - which we have spent 5 years working with DEFRA to register - was actually abolished entirely in the Articles right from the start. Yet the Summary , and press releases based on it, still talked about how it will help preserve Amateur varieties! The Summary is completely bogus. Do not base your views of the law on it!

So, be warned. By all means, read it yourself. But you have the ignore the Summary as that is not the Law, and does not reflect what is in the Law.

As you might suspect, this move is the "final solution" of Monsanto, DuPont and other seed-domination corporations who have long admitted their goal is the complete domination of all seeds and crops grown on the planet. By criminalizing the private growing of vegetables -- thereby turning gardeners into criminals -- EU bureaucrats can finally hand over full control of the food supply to powerful corporations like Monsanto.

Most heirloom seeds to be criminalized

Nearly all varieties of heirloom vegetable seeds will be criminalized under this proposed EU law. This means the act of saving seeds from one generation to the next -- a cornerstone of sustainable living -- will become a criminal act.

In addition, as Gabel explains, this law "...effectively kills off development of home-garden seeds in the EU."

This is the ultimate wish of all governments, of course: To criminalize any act of self-reliance and make the population completely dependent on monopolistic corporations for their very survival. This is true both in the USA and the EU. This is what governments do: They seize control, one sector at a time, year after year, until you are living as nothing more than a total slave under a globalist dictatorial regime.

An online petition has already been started on this issue and has garnered nearly 25,000 signatures so far.

NOAH'S ARK and 240 other organizations from 40 European countries have also initiated an "open letter" appealing to Brussels bureaucrats to stop the insanity. Click here for a translated version of their petition.

I saw this coming

By the way, I am on the record predicting this exact scenario. Read Chapter Three of my fiction book, "Freedom Chronicles 2026." (Read it FREE, online.) It depicts a seed smuggler living in a time when seeds are criminalized and people earn a living as professional seed smugglers.

In my book, a woman uses a specially-crafted breast prosthesis to smuggle seeds to "underground gardeners" in full defiance of laws crafted by Monsanto. A vast underground network of grassroots gardeners and scientists manage to put together a "seed weapon" to destroy GMOs and take back the food supply from evil corporations.

Mark my words: Seeds are about to become contraband. Anyone who grows their own food is about to be targeted as a criminal. The governments of the world, conspiring with corporations like Monsanto, do not want any individual to be able to grow their own food.

This is about total domination of the food supply and the criminalizing of gardeners. And this is what big government always does after centralizing sufficient power. All governments inherently seek total control over the lives of everyone, and if you don't set boundaries and limits for government (i.e. the Bill of Rights), it eventually runs roughshod over all freedoms and liberties, including the freedom to grow your own food.
Besides politicians and corporations, consumers are one of the main responsible's for human rights abuses, among other problems. Choose ethical and ecological products and pressure politicians to change / enforce laws and corporations to produce ethical and ecological products and services.

Boycott all corporations that abuse people, animals and nature.

In 2012, approximately 21 million people worked in forced labor worldwide, including in industrialized nations like the United States. More than one quarter of these people were children. Overall, 215 million children labor worldwide, half of them in dangerous industries, often without adequate employment and workplace protections.

74 countries have been identified as locales where child labor and forced labor are used, and much of it occurs in the context of production of basic commodities highly valued in the West, including coffee, chocolate, gold, cotton, beef and sugarcane. Children are also forced into sex work and domestic labor like cleaning and caring for children.

While the United States might have officially ended slavery with the Civil War, slavery, forced labor and related exploitative labor practices endure across the world, including in the U.S. In fact, the use of such practices has actually increased worldwide in recent years. What’s going on? Why is the global economy so heavily reliant on forms of labor that should have gone out with the dodo?

The answer to this troubling question is a complex one that lies in part in the demand for cheap, readily-available goods across the West. Companies rallying to meet this demand are also driven by internal pressures for profit, with demands from their boards and shareholders. Their desire to profit at all costs mean that they cut corners when it comes to sourcing, protecting their workers, monitoring working conditions and ensuring that their products are produced without the use of slave, forced, child and other kinds of exploitative labor.

Groups like the International Labor Organization that are concerned with the use of exploitative labor in the U.S. are attempting to address it with tools like a free program for businesses that want to commit to sourcing their labor more responsibly, but they aren’t making much headway. They’re going up against a complex and interconnected system that pits business against children and workers from marginalized populations like ethnic and cultural minorities.

Complying with the standards involved in ensuring that a supply chain remains free of exploitative labor and the use of children means careful monitoring and high levels of transparency. It also requires giving up some profits, something many companies are reluctant to do — after all, many relocate specifically to the Global South in order to evade oversight and increase profits thanks to lower labor costs and other operating costs.

The only way to change the culture of labor is to increase pressure on companies to do the right thing by their workers. Members of the public can push for slave and child labor-free goods, demanding products produced ethically, but this requires a functional and accurate system for identifying and certifying products, to prevent companies from simply claiming that their products meet standards when this is not in fact the case.

Another, and potentially far more effective, mechanism for getting children out of the workforce and into school where they belong is the application of shareholder activism. In shareholder activism, individuals and groups buy up blocks of shares and coordinate together to vote on key issues when a company brings them to shareholders for the vote. They can force people off the board, elect representatives who will promote their interests and force a company to behave with more integrity and accountability.

This kind of activism can require deep pockets, especially for multinationals, but it can be a profound way to send a message. As one company begins to establish a more responsible industry standard and customers turn to it, competitors will be forced to do the same, even if it means a drop in profits. That can create a snowball effect of change, and make the world safer for children.

Not sure about how much this affects you personally? Use the Slavery Footprint tool to get a grim and personal look at how many slaves work for you. Enter some details about your habits and lifestyle, and it will provide information about the kinds of people involved in the production of the goods and services you use.

You’re probably careful about avoiding choking hazards and other common safety issues with toys, but did you know there are a wide variety of synthetic chemicals and heavy metals that could be in them? From lead and cadmium in paint, plastics, and jewelry to xylene, toluene, and phthalates in play cosmetics–when did toy boxes become a toxic minefield?

Make your toy box healthier for your child and the planet. Here are 12 ways you can reclaim the fun and reduce worry when it comes to playtime.

1. Go au natural. Look for safe toys made of natural materials like solid woods (with no finish or a non-toxic finish) and organic textiles (like cotton, wool, and felt).

2. Simplify. Buying fewer toys is eco-friendly. It’s better for the planet (and your pocketbook!).

3. Re-purpose. Can something you already have be used as a toy? An empty box or set of stainless steel bowls can provide hours of safe and happy play, depending on the age of your child.

Cat Toys from Reused Household Items

4. Look for items that will last. Safe, high quality toys may cost a bit more, but they will last much longer and can be handed down to younger children. Also, if you decide to sell them, you’re more likely to make your money back.

5. Read labels. Before you buy, ask yourself “What’s this toy made of? Where does it come from?” Get to know a toy before you buy it. This is important for pet toys, too.

6. Look for local. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by buying local as well as healthy. If you’re shopping globally, opt for European, Canadian or Japanese toy imports. Other countries may have lax toy safety regulations.

7. Opt for open-ended toys. Look for items that encourage creativity and are capable of being used for many different types of play. Wooden blocks, colorful scarves, smooth stones, and even cardboard boxes are fun, safe toys that can be the foundation for innumerable creative adventures.

Make Paper Dolls from Recycled Materials

8. Avoid cheap jewelry and kids’ cosmetics. Both of these types of dress-up products are high-risk. Cheap jewelry often has high lead levels and kids’ cosmetics can have any number of questionable and unsafe chemicals.

9. Purge plastics. Okay, this is nearly impossible these days, but make your best effort. If you do buy plastic, look for safer plastics like those labeled #2, #4, or #5 in the chasing arrows symbol usually found on the bottom of the product. Not labeled? Call the manufacturer. This is key for buying safe pet toys, too, as they’re obviously chewing on toys–a direct route of ingestion.

10. Text for Healthy Toys. HealthyToys.org is a database to help you find safe toys. You can even access it from your mobile phone. Just text keywords and you’ll receive information immediately regarding any testing that’s been done to determine whether or not a particular toy is safe. They even rank pet toys by safety.

11. Sign-up for recall alerts. The Consumer Product Safety Commission posts recalls online, as does the website Recalls.gov. If a toy you own is recalled, take it out of rotation immediately and follow the company’s instructions on how to get a safe replacement.

12. Have fun! Playtime isn’t about what you have, it’s about what you do. Get down and dirty with your kids. Laugh and simply enjoy spending time together.

HOME - THE WORLD IS OUR HOME:

A MUST SEE DOCUMENTARY - We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth's climate. The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.
This visually dramatic special illustrates the planet's fragile state entirely from a birds-eye view in stunning high definition. With spectacular aerial views from more than 50 countries, viewers will see the extent of human impact on our landscapes. And not a moment too soon: In the past 50 years -a single lifetime - the Earth has been more radically changed than by all previous generations of humanity.

HOME has been made for you : share it! And act for the planet.
HOME - O MUNDO É A NOSSA CASA:

100 Simple ways to help change the world!

1. Open an ethical bank account with Smile/Co-OP www.smile.co.uk or
http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk
2. Invest your other savings ethically www.eiris.org
3. Change your electricity supplier to a renewable one
http://www.npower.com/yourhome/green/juiceandwindpower or
http://www.unit-e.co.uk
4. Buy local http://www.buylocalfood.co.uk
5. Buy less! Save yourself time and money as well as the planet
www.buynothingday.co.uk
6. Buy organic www.soilassociation.org
7. Eat seasonal food www.foodlinks.info/buying/VegSeasons.php
8. Volunteer www.csv.org.uk
9. Give to charity www.charitychoice.co.uk
10. Buy fair trade www.fairtrade.org.uk or www.maketradefair.com
11. Get on your bike – get fit, get around and see the world at an entirely
different pace www.sustrans.org.uk
12. Compost your garden and kitchen waste in a heap or a wormery.
Reduce the waste you send to landfill sites and get lovely compost for
your plants into the bargain! - www.compost.org.uk or
www.wigglywigglers.co.uk
13.Get a rain butt and use the water to give your garden a drink not the
hose
14. Grow stuff, indoors and out, to eat, clean the air in your house or to
give to friends instead of cut flowers www.permaculture.co.uk or
www.ecocities.net/Gardening.htm
15. Install a nesting box/bird table or feeder to attract feathered friends
www.rspb.org/gardens/whatyoucando/nestboxsmallbird/index.asp
16. Carbon neutralise your holiday. For further details visit
futureforests.com, chooseclimate.org, carbonneutral.com.
17.When on holiday: ask for your towels to be washed every other day, or
less, instead of every day (only 17% of people do this when on
holiday)
18.Switch off your air conditioning when you are out for the day (only
18% of holiday-makers do this). If just 50% of people did, it is
estimated that across the world 5m tonnes of CO2 emissions would be
prevented each year.
19.Use water sparingly when abroad. The average tourist uses as much
water in 24 hours as a villager in the developing world uses in 100
days.
20. Follow Tourism Concern's traveller tips; put money into local hands by
drinking local beer and fruit juice rather than imported brands; stay in
locally owned accommodation; stick to footpaths, don't stand on coral,
and don't buy products made from endangered animals or plants; wear
respectful clothing; and always ask people if you can take their
photograph www.tourismconcern.org.uk

21. When cleaning the house: Avoid all the expensive and dubious
chemicals such as the ‘Mr Muscles’ of this world as they often contain
anti-bacterial agents more dangerous than the bacteria they are
designed to eliminate! Instead why not make effective cleaning
products yourself from cheap, easily available household products.-Make a window cleaner by mixing vinegar with water; or neat,
with a few drops of tea tree oil, it can be used as a disinfectant.
Try baking soda as an all-purpose cleaner or scourer, salt as an
abrasive for cleaning pots and pans, and lemon juice as an
alternative to bleach. Just re-label your old spray bottles to
dispense them
Use bicarbonate of soda to deodorise carpets or with white
vinegar to scrub stainless steel, clear drains, remove tea stains
from mugs and remove permanent marker pen from skin.
Vinegar is a good replacement for limescale remover. Unscrew
your showerhead and leave it in vinegar overnight; the next
morning it will be free of limescale.
22. If you must buy cleaning products then use biodegradable or
environmentally friendlier products such as Ecover Squirteco, an allpurpose
cleaner that relies on plant- and mineral-based surfactants to
provide its cleaning oomph, and Ecover washing-up liquid
www.ecover.com
23. Get your family and workplace to perform a waste audit to determine
how much they throw away. Hopefully, this will shock them into action.
www.globalactionplan.org
24. For recycling to work, recycled goods have to be a profitable industry.
Do your bit by buying recycled goods whenever possible.
www.recycledproducts.org.uk
25.If practical, build or set aside an area dedicated to sorting recyclable
waste.
26. About 80% of what we throw away is recyclable. Find your nearest
recycling point at www.wastepoint.co.uk
27.Crush the rubbish you send to the landfill as small as possible. This
way, it will take up less space.
28.Try to avoid drink cartons that are made of a paper/polyethylene mix,
which are notoriously hard to recycle.
29. Rid yourself of junk mail, sign-up with the Mailing Preference Service
(www.mpsonline.org.uk tel: 0845 703 4599).
30. Get inspiration from others. See how New Zealand is putting the rest of
the western world to shame with its Zero Waste policy
(www.zerowaste.co.nz).
31.Be careful to note the subtle difference between various "mobius
loops" - the circle of arrows seen on packaging. Only arrows with a
dark background mean that the item is made with recycled materials.
Arrows on a light background mean the item can be recycled - a big
difference.
32.When buying plastics look out for the following recyclable types: PET
(polyethylene terephalate), HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and
LDPE (low-density polyethylene).
33.Follow the lead of Friends of the Earth and the Women's Environmental
Network which urge you to post excessive packaging to the guilty
firm's HQ.
34.Avoid buying anything that boasts on its packaging that it is disposable
- gloves, paper towels, cleaning cloths, bin liners, nappies, plastic cups.
35.Buy products with less packaging
36.Buy in bulk
37.If you use the dry cleaner, ask them to put several items in one plastic
covering.
38. If you can't think of a use for something you don't want, take it to a
charity shop.
39. Re-use good packaging such as paper, boxes, bags and bubble wrap or
wrap gifts in fabric and tie with ribbon; both are reusable and prettier
than paper and sticky-tape.
40.The best way to re-use is to repair rather than throw away.
41. Get children interested in our waste problem. Start by getting them to
visit www.recyclezone.org.uk
42. Buy your own bee hive: without bees the planet would last for only 60
years (and honey is good for your health) www.bbka.org.uk
43. Use a nappy washing service: they use 32% less energy and 41% less
water than home washing. UK Nappy Helpline: 01983 401959
44.Slow down. Driving at 50mph uses 25% less fuel than 70mph.
45.Wash your clothes with your flatmates' instead of wasting water on
half-empty loads.
46.Turn down your central heating and put on a jumper.
47.Install a new condensing boiler, they are up to 30% more energy
efficient than traditional systems
48.Take a brisk shower, not a leisurely bath, to save water.
49. Hold a Tupperware party. Airtight food containers can be reused;
sandwich bags and plastic wrap cannot. www.tupperware.com
50.Choose energy-efficient appliances when you replace old ones.
51. Buy compact fluorescent light bulbs. They last eight times as long and
use a fraction of the energy. www.saveenergy.co.uk
52.Join a library instead of buying books.
53.Get to know your neighbours; they are more likely to keep your home
safe than energy-guzzling security lamps. You might even like them!
54.Recycle your car oil at a recycling depot or petrol station rather than in
your driveway; it contains lead, nickel and cadmium and oil in the
drainage system covers water in a thin layer suffocating life
underneath.
55. Let them carry you off in a biodegradable cardboard coffin, saving
trees, instead of burning your body at the crematorium.
www.naturaldeath.org.uk
56. Raise your glass to organic beer; conventionally grown hops are
sprayed up to a dozen times a year. www.stpetersbrewery.co.uk
57.Take the plunge and move in with your partner so you light and heat
one home rather than two.
58. Give a colleague a lift to work; if no one is going your way, join a
carshare scheme to find a passenger. Www.liftshare.com
www.carclubs.org.uk
59.Cook for friends. Large quantities of food use less packaging than the
same quantity in individual portions (and take less energy to cook).
60. Copy Government Ministers by holidaying in Britain (but unlike them,
skip the follow-up trip to Tuscany) there are thousands of amazing
places to visit right here on our own little rock (no promises on the
weather!). www.visitbritain.com
61.Refuse plastic carrier bags, or at least reuse them. Cloth bags are
better.
62. Donate your leftover paint to a community project; Britons fail to use
6.2m litres of the paint they buy each year.
www.reuze.co.uk/paint.shtml
63.Drink tap or filtered water, not bottled. It is no accident that ‘Evian’ is
naïve spelt backwards!
64.Invest in a washing line; tumble dryers devour electricity.
65. Put a ‘hippo’ or plastic coke bottle full of water in your toilet cistern to
reduce the flush volume and save water www.hippo-thewatersaver.
co.uk
66.Turn off TVs and stereos instead of switching them to standby.
67.Lighten up: paint your walls a pale colour, so you need less artificial
light.
68.Only flush toilets if really needed; follow the Australian maxim: "If it's
yellow that's mellow, if it's brown flush it down."
69.Improve the ambience and dine by candlelight, saving electricity.
70.Insulate your home. Cavity wall insulation can cut heat loss through
the wall by up to 60%.
71. Buy from companies with eco-friendly policies; boycott those without
www.ethicalconsumer.org
72. Soak up the sun; even in Britain, solar panels can produce a surprising
amount of energy. www.solarcentury.co.uk
73.Clean the back of your fridge. Dusty coils can increase energy
consumption by 30%.
74.Avoid air travel; it produces three times more carbon dioxide per
passenger than rail.
75.Choose a car with a 3-way catalytic converter, to reduce nitrogen
oxides and hydrocarbons emissions by 90%.
76.Ban blinds. Heavy curtains keep in more heat in winter.
77.Change materials as well as rooms; MDF and chipboard release
formaldehyde, a carcinogen. Buy sustainably produced wood instead.
78.Cut up the plastic rings from packs of beer; they are invisible in water
so wildlife can choke on them or trap themselves.
79.Bring a mug to the office instead of using polystyrene cups.
80.Snap up a 36-exposure film instead of 24, reducing waste from
packaging and processing. Better still get a digital camera!
81.Cancel that expensive gym membership and walk to work instead.
82.Drink more water, most of us are dehydrated most of the time
83. Reflect! Take time out from your day and spend 15 minutes thinking
about yourself, your friends, family and the rest of the world, a great
way to reduce stress (hopefully) and be more positive
www.stressbusting.co.uk and www.calmcentre.com
84. Improve yourself! Do a course of study or activity at your local
education centre…learn a language, how to dance the fandango or knit
sweaters from the fur of obscure south american mammals
www.learndirect.co.uk
85. Get out of debt if you can, we all get into difficult financial situations
but there’s always a way out. www.nationaldebtline.co.uk or
www.cccs.co.uk
86. Be independent. Set up your own business, be your own boss and do
something you really believe in www.businesslink.gov.uk
87. Work flexibly, get a work:life balance www.w-lb.org.uk
88. Buy wood only from sustainable sources www.fscoax.org
89. Vote! Get out there and make your voice and opinions count! –
www.electoralcommission.gov.u k
90.Smile
91.Buy chocolates from proper chocolate stores, so they are not
individually wrapped
92.Pretend Christmas has come early; turkey is more likely than chicken
to be produced in the UK, while British-grown brussel sprouts require
less transport than Kenyan mangetout.
93.Tell your friends and family about this list of simple things to do
94. Switch off your television and go out and do something less boring
instead in a ‘Why don’t you’ style www.whitedot.org
95.Laughter is the best medicine – see the funny side of life
96. Do something amazing, donate blood www.blood.co.uk
97. Carry a donor card and enable someone to www.uktransplant.org.uk
98. Buy only Marine Stewardship Council accredited fish products
www.msc.org
99.Don’t fill the kettle to the brim every time you make a cuppa – save
energy by only boiling as much as you need
100.Instead of buying yourself an expensive new outfit swap your clothes
with your friends to reinvigorate your wardrobe

Existe vida e morte.

(Article 1)
15 Reasons to Eat Organic Food:

1. In study after study, research from independent organizations consistently shows organic food is higher in nutrients than traditional foods. Research shows that organic produce is higher in vitamin C, antioxidants, and the minerals calcium, iron, chromium, and magnesium.

2. They’re free of neurotoxins–toxins that are damaging to brain and nerve cells. A commonly-used class of pesticides called organophosphates was originally developed as a toxic nerve agent during World War I. When there was no longer a need for them in warfare, industry adapted them to kill pests on foods. Many pesticides are still considered neurotoxins.

3. They’re supportive of growing children’s brains and bodies. Children’s growing brains and bodies are far more susceptible to toxins than adults. Choosing organic helps feed their bodies without the exposure to pesticides and genetically-modified organisms, both of which have a relatively short history of use (and therefore safety).

4. They are real food, not pesticide factories. Eighteen percent of all genetically-modified seeds (and therefore foods that grow from them) are engineered to produce their own pesticides. Research shows that these seeds may continue producing pesticides inside your body once you’ve eaten the food grown from them! Foods that are actually pesticide factories…no thanks.

5. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that pesticides pollute the primary drinking source for half the American population. Organic farming is the best solution to the problem. Buying organic helps reduce pollution in our drinking water.

6. Organic food is earth-supportive (when big business keeps their hands out of it). Organic food production has been around for thousands of years and is the sustainable choice for the future. Compare that to modern agricultural practices that are destructive of the environment through widespread use of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers and have resulted in drastic environmental damage in many parts of the world.

7. Organic food choices grown on small-scale organic farms help ensure independent family farmers can create a livelihood. Consider it the domestic version of fair trade.

8. Most organic food simply tastes better than the pesticide-grown counterparts.

9. Organic food is not exposed to gas-ripening like some non-organic fruits and vegetables (like bananas).

10. Organic farms are safer for farm workers. Research at the Harvard School of Public Health found a 70 percent increase in Parkinson’s disease among people exposed to pesticides. Choosing organic foods means that more people will be able to work on farms without incurring the higher potential health risk of Parkinson’s or other illnesses.

11. Organic food supports wildlife habitats. Even with commonly used amounts of pesticides, wildlife is being harmed by exposure to pesticides.

17 Essential Reasons to Eat Organic Food:

Organic food was the only option for thousands of years. Now, with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and genetically-modified foods, organic is still the best option. Here are 17 reasons to eat organic food:

1. Genetically-modified foods were unleashed on the environment and the public by corporations like Monsanto without prior testing to determine their safety. In other words, eating genetically-modified foods (which most people in in large amounts) is participating in a long-term, uncontrolled experiment. Choose organic to avoid participating in this experiment.

2. More and more research is coming in about the health threat of genetically-modified food. The results range from intestinal damage, allergies, liver or pancreatic problems, testicular cellular changes, tumors, and even death in the experimental animals. For more information, read the excellent books by Jeffrey M. Smith Seeds of Deception andGenetic Roulette. I’ll discuss more of the problems linked with GMOs in upcoming blogs. Eating third-party certified organic foods or those that are guaranteed to be grown from organic seed helps protect you from the health consequences of GMOs.

4 Potential Health Risks of Eating GMO Foods

3. Fruits and vegetables are real food, not pesticide factories. Eighteen percent of all genetically-modified seeds (and therefore foods that grow from them) are engineered to produce their own pesticides. Research shows that these seeds continue producing pesticides inside your body once you’ve eaten the food grown from them! Foods that are actually pesticide factories…no thanks.

4. They’re free of neurotoxins—toxins that are damaging to brain and nerve cells. A commonly-used class of pesticides called organophosphates was originally developed as a toxic nerve agent during World War I. When there was no longer a need for them in warfare, industry adapted them to kill pests on foods. Many pesticides are still considered neurotoxins. Learn more about pesticides in The 4-Week Ultimate Body Detox Plan.

6. In study after study, research from independent organizations consistently shows organic food is higher in nutrients than traditional foods. Research shows that organic produce is higher in vitamin C, antioxidants, and the minerals calcium, iron, chromium, and magnesium. (For more information, check out The Life Force Diet).

7. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that pesticides pollute the primary drinking source for half the American population. Organic farming is the best solution to the problem. Buying organic helps reduce pollution in our drinking water.

9. Organic food choices grown on small-scale organic farms help ensure independent family farmers can create a livelihood. Consider it the domestic version of fair trade.

10. Most organic food simply tastes better than the pesticide-grown counterparts.

11. Organic food is not exposed to gas-ripening like some non-organic fruits and vegetables (like bananas).

12. Organic farms are safer for farm workers. Research at the Harvard School of Public Health found a 70% increase in Parkinson’s disease among people exposed to pesticides. Choosing organic foods means that more people will be able to work on farms without incurring the higher potential health risk of Parkinson’s or other illnesses.

13. Organic food supports wildlife habitats. Even with commonly used amounts of pesticides, wildlife is being harmed by exposure to pesticides.

14. Eating organic may reduce your cancer risk. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides, and 30% of insecticides potentially cancer-causing. It is reasonable to think that the rapidly increasing rates of cancer are at least partly linked to the use of these carcinogenic pesticides.

15. Choosing organic meat lessens your exposure to antibiotics, synthetic hormones, and drugs that find their way into the animals and ultimately into you.

16. Organic food is tried and tested. By some estimates genetically-modified food makes up 80% of the average person’s food consumption. Genetic modification of food is still experimental. Avoid being part of this wide scale and uncontrolled experiment.

As parents, we’re inundated with mixed messages about vaccines. On one hand, doctors and mainstream media tell you how effective and
safe vaccines are. On the other hand, you have parents like me who claim
vaccines injured their children, or, in this case, that vaccines really
“don’t work” as advertised.

What is often quickly forgotten is how often (and badly) vaccines
fail. Ask yourself, “Why don’t these vaccine failures regularly make the
news?”

If you can imagine in your mind’s eye, for a moment, the cash
register “cha-chinging” while Big Pharma is pulling out a wad of cash, I
think you may be getting close to the real answer. There’s big money in
making sure the vaccine program is perceived as a success by you.
But this isn’t why you’re here.

Before I give you the 17 examples of how vaccines have failed, please investigate the United States vaccine schedule. Children are injected with 36 vaccines by the time they are 6 years of age.

The United States has the most aggressive vaccine schedule in the world.

You’ll notice a common theme that when vaccines fail, the proposed
solution is often more vaccines, even when the child has already
received multiple doses to “protect” them.

As promised, here are examples of the children being injected with
toxic and ineffective vaccines, which their parents trusted would
protect their children from getting the disease.

Vaccine Failure #1 – Mumps Outbreak in Orthodox Jewish Communities in the United States (2010)

A large mumps outbreak occurred among highly vaccinated U.S. Orthodox
Jewish communities during 2009 and 2010. Of the teenagers vaccinated,

89% had previously received two doses of a mumps-containing vaccine

8% had received one dose

Those infected who received a vaccine: 97%. [1]

Vaccine Failure #2 – Mumps Epidemic in Iowa (2006)

In March, 2006, a total of 219 mumps cases had been reported in Iowa –
the largest epidemic of mumps in the United States since 1988.
Of the 219 cases reported in Iowa, the average age of infection was 21. Of the 133 patients investigated with a vaccine history,

87 (65%) had received 2 doses

19 (14%) had received 1 dose

8 (6%) had no doses

19 (14%) vaccine status could not be documented

Those infected who received a vaccine: 79% (at least). [2]

Vaccine Failure #3 – Mumps Outbreak at a Summer Camp in New York (2005)

On July 26, 2005, the New York State Department of Health identified
31 cases of mumps, possibly introduced by an unvaccinated camp counselor
from the United Kingdom (UK). The vaccine coverage for the entire camp
was 96%. Of the infected 31,

16 (52%) had received 2 doses

4 (13%) had received 1 dose

9 (29%) had no doses

2 (6%) vaccine status could not be documented

20 of the 31 people infected (65%) of the people infected were vaccinated.
Vaccine coverage for the camp: 96%. [3]

Vaccine Failure #4 – Mumps Outbreak in a Highly Vaccinated Population (1989)

From October 1988 to April 1989, an outbreak involving 269 cases of
mumps occurred in Douglas County, Kansas. Of the 269 cases, 208 (77.3%)
occurred among primary and secondary school students, of whom 203
(97.6%) had received a mumps vaccination. [4]

Vaccine Failure #5 – Two Fully Vaccinated Doctors Get Measles (2009)

A measles outbreak in 2009 exposed and infected two physicians, both
of whom had been fully vaccinated with two doses of the MMR vaccine.
These physicians were suspected of having been infected by treating
patients diagnosed with measles.
Scoreboard: Measles 2 – Vaccinated Doctors 0. [5]

Vaccine Failure #6 – Major Measles Epidemic in Quebec Despite 99% Vaccine Coverage (1989)

The 1989 measles outbreak infecting 1,363 people in the province of
Quebec was attempted to be explained away as occurring because of
“incomplete vaccination coverage.”
However, upon further investigation, it was discovered the
vaccination coverage among cases was at least 84.5%. Vaccination
coverage for the total population was 99.0%.
Vaccine coverage for population: 99% [6]

Vaccine Failure #7–Outbreak of Measles Despite Appropriate Control Measures (1985)

In 1985, of 118 cases of measles which occurred on a Blackfeet
reservation in Montana, 82% were vaccinated. Twenty-three of those cases
occurred in the schools in Browning, Montana, where 98.7% of students
were vaccinated. [7]

Vaccine Failure #8 – Measles Outbreak in a Fully Immunized Secondary-School Population (1985)

In 1985, an outbreak of measles occurred in a secondary school
located in Corpus Christi, Texas. More than 99% had records of
vaccination with live measles vaccine. The investigators concluded “that
outbreaks of measles can occur in secondary schools, even when more
than 99 percent of the students have been vaccinated and more than 95
percent are immune.”
Vaccine coverage for school: 99%. [8]

Vaccine Failure #9 – Measles in an Immunized School-Aged Population in New Mexico (1984)

The story keeps repeating.
In 1984, 76 cases of measles were reported in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Forty-seven cases (62%) occurred among students. The school reported
that 98% of students were vaccinated against measles before the outbreak
began.
Vaccine coverage for school: 98% [9]

Vaccine Failure #10 – Measles Outbreak Among Vaccinated High School Students in Illinois (1984)

In 1984, 21 cases of measles occurred in Sangamon County, Illinois.

16 (76%) were vaccinated

4 (19%) were unvaccinated preschool children

1 (5%) vaccinated college student

All 411 students of the local high school were documented as having
received the vaccination on or after their first birthday. Investigators
remarked, “This outbreak demonstrates that transmission of measles
can occur within a school population with a documented immunization
level of 100%.”
Vaccine coverage in school children contracting measles: 100% [10]

Vaccine Failure #11 – Analysis of Measles Epidemic; Possible Role of Vaccine Failures (1975)

In 1975, a measles epidemic occurred in schools in Greensville, Ontario. Out of the 47 cases of measles,

26 (55.3%) had been vaccinated

18 (18.3%) had not been vaccinated

3 (6.4%) vaccine status unknown

Researchers concluded one vaccine isn’t enough to protect children.
They recommended children be injected with an additional measles
vaccine.
Cases of measles in vaccinated children: 55.3%. [11]

Vaccine Failure #12 – Unexpectedly Limited Durability of Immunity
Following Acellular Pertussis Vaccination in Pre-Adolescents in a North
American Outbreak (2012)

In 2012, doctors at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center identified 171
cases of pertussis – 132 in children. They noticed increased cases in
children between the ages 8-12. They claim vaccine effectiveness was as
follows:

For ages 2-7: 41% effective (?!?)

For ages 8-12: 24% effective (?!?)

For ages 13-18: 79% effective

Outside of using colorful adjectives such as garbage, worthless, or
junk, the doctors hypothesized children need more vaccines to become
“adequately protected.”
Vaccine effectiveness for ages 8-12: 24%. [12]

Vaccine Failure #13 – Clinical Presentation of Pertussis in Fully Immunized Children in Lithuania (2001)

In 2001, Lithuania’s vaccine coverage was 94.6% as a country. From
May to December of that year, 53 children showed a serological
confirmation of pertussis. Of the 53 children,

32 (60.4%) were fully vaccinated

21 (39.6%) were partially vaccinated or unvaccinated

Researchers conveniently grouped both partially vaccinated and
unvaccinated children together. Twenty-eight of 32 fully vaccinated
children (87.5%) had also received antibiotics.
Vaccinated children (who received at least three DTP vaccine doses) represented 43.2% of all pertussis cases diagnosed in 2001.
Vaccine coverage for Lithuania: 94.6%. [13]

Vaccine Failure #14 – Pertussis Infection in Fully Vaccinated Children in Day Care Centers (2000)

Many health professionals are adamant that vaccines protect against
infection. Evidence from a field investigation in Israel challenges this
belief.
In 2000, a child died suspected of having pertussis. The baby
received the first dose of DTP at two months of age – all family members
were completely vaccinated with four doses of DTP.
The day care centers that two siblings had attended during the
child’s illness were investigated. All the children in the day care had
been vaccinated in infancy with four doses of diphtheria-tetanus toxoid
pertussis (DTP) vaccine, and a booster dose at 12 months of age.
Five fully vaccinated children were found to be colonized with Bordetella pertussis.
At the conclusion of the investigation, researchers stressed the following information:

“Vaccinated adolescents and
adults may serve as reservoirs for silent infection and become potential
transmitters to unprotected infants. The whole-cell vaccine
for pertussis is protective only against clinical disease, not against
infection. Therefore, even young, recently vaccinated children may serve as reservoirs and potential transmitters of infection.”

They re-emphasized again, “Our results indicate that children ages 5-6 years and possibly younger, ages 2-3 years, play a role as silent reservoirs in the transmission of pertussis in the community.”
Vaccine coverage in daycare: 100% [14]

Vaccine Failure #15 – Pertussis Outbreak in Vermont (1996)

In 1996, over 280 cases of pertussis cases were identified in
Vermont. Here is the breakdown of the age groups of those infected:

12 (4%) were aged less than 1 year

32 (11%) were 1-4 years

42 (15%) were 5-9 years

129 (46%) were 10-19 years

65 (23%) were greater than or equal to 20 years

How many of these 215 children were vaccinated? According to the report, of the children who had a known vaccine status,

5 children aged 7-47 months were partially vaccinated

14 children aged 7-47 months were vaccinated with 3 doses

49 children aged 7-18 years were partially vaccinated

106 children aged 7-18 years were fully vaccinated

Disturbingly, 174 children were vaccinated and over half (61%) of the
school children were considered “fully vaccinated!” It’s also important
to keep in mind that in 1996, 97% of children aged 19-35 months in
Vermont had received three or more doses of DT or DTP vaccine.
Complete failure in vaccinated children: at least 80.9% [15]

Vaccine Failure #16 – Outbreak of Varicella at a Day Care Center Despite Vaccination (2012)

Sometimes instead of saying a vaccine is a complete failure, a term
such as “breakthrough varicella” is used to describe how children get
the disease for which they were vaccinated.
In December of 2012, an outbreak occurred in a private day care
center in a small community near Concord, New Hampshire. There were a
total of 25 cases of varicella reported in children.

17 (68%) were vaccinated

8 (32%) were unvaccinated – two of these children were vaccinated in late December and classified as “unvaccinated”

The investigators lamented that the vaccine was 44% effective, saying, “The
reasons for the poor performance of the vaccine are not apparent…the
findings in this investigation raise concern that the current
vaccination strategy may not protect all children adequately.”
Vaccine coverage: 73.1% [16]

Vaccine Failure #17 – An Outbreak of Chickenpox in Elementary School Children with Two-Dose Varicella Vaccine Recipients (2006)

When it is apparent one vaccine isn’t working, the answer is almost always more vaccines… ever notice?
In June 2006, a second dose of the chickenpox (varicella) vaccine was
recommended for school entry. Shortly after school had begun, the
Arkansas Department of Health was notified of a varicella outbreak in
students.
Vaccination information was available for 871 (99%) of the 880
children. Ninety-seven percent of the children had been vaccinated for
varicella! In this outbreak, 84 cases were reported.
Vaccine coverage: 97%. [17]

Conclusion

As you can see from the above examples, vaccines fail and do so
often. Trust me, there are many more examples I didn’t cover here.
Here’s a tip for you if you want to look for more information. Open
your browser right now. Go to Google.com and do a search for the terms
“previously immunized for (x)” or “breakthrough (x) in school.” X, of
course, represents a “vaccine preventable” disease such as pertussis,
measles, varicella, etc., – you get the point.
As a parent, you trust doctors to provide you with accurate
information. When doctors say vaccines work and they are effective, from
whom are they getting their information?
Maybe even more importantly, why aren’t the vaccine failures covered
by mainstream media to inform you? The likely answer is the
organizations who really need protection from the truth are the members
of Big Pharma – and I don’t think there is a vaccine for that (although
they may try to create one).
If you find other examples, please post them below (with the link to PubMed) for other parents to read.

ENGLISH: There’s No Tomorrow is a half-hour animated documentary about resource depletion, energy and the impossibility of infinite growth on a finite planet.

Inspired by the pro-capitalist cartoons of the 1940s, the film is an introduction to the energy dilemmas facing the world today.

“The average American today has available the energy equivalent of 150 slaves, working 24 hours a day. Materials that store this energy for work are called fuels. Some fuels contain more energy than others. This is called energy density.”

“Economic expansion has resulted in increases in atmospheric nitrous oxide and methane, ozone depletion, increases in great floods, damage to ocean ecosystems, including nitrogen runoff, loss of rainforest and woodland, increases in domesticated land, and species extinctions.”

“The global food supply relies heavily on fossil fuels. Before WW1, all agriculture was Organic. Following the invention of fossil fuel derived fertilisers and pesticides there were massive improvements in food production, allowing for increases in human population. The use of artificial fertilisers has fed far more people than would have been possible with organic agriculture alone.”
